Account and data deletion

1. Before you delete your account

Delete any listings you still have published first, from the My listings page. Deleting your account does not automatically take published listings down — they stay visible to visitors until you remove them or ask us to.

If you have an active merchant package or featured listings, they stop and the remaining value is not refunded.

2. Option 1 — from inside the app

This is the fastest route and works on both Android and iOS:

• Open the Souq Mazad app and sign in.
• Go to the Account tab.
• Open Settings.
• Choose Delete account, then confirm.

Deletion takes effect immediately: you are signed out on every device, and your phone number becomes available to register again.

3. Option 2 — by email

If you can no longer sign in, email support@souqmazadeg.com with the subject "Account deletion request" and include:

• The phone number or email address you registered with.
• The name on the account, if you remember it.
• Whether you also want the retained record erased, not just the account closed.

We reply within 3 business days to verify the request is genuinely yours, and complete the deletion within 7 business days of that verification.

4. What happens to your data

When your account is deleted:

• The account is closed and your profile is hidden — no one can contact you through the platform any more.
• Your profile photo is permanently deleted from our storage.
• You are signed out on every device.
• Your phone number and email address are released, so they can be used for a new account.

We keep a limited internal record of the account where we need it to meet legal and tax obligations, to prevent fraud, and to resolve any open dispute. That record is not visible to other users of the platform.

If you want that record erased as well, say so explicitly in your email to support@souqmazadeg.com and we will do so as far as the law allows.
